This summer I am undertaking the biggest challenge of my qlife - to sail round Britain in just
three weeks, and try to raise £20,000 for Leukaemia Research. If you would like to donate, please
go to www.justgiving.com/sailroundbritain - All the best, Rob. Why am I doing this? In 2005 I met a lovely young woman called Jessie Whitmore. She needed a bone marrow transplant to cure her acute myeloid leukemia. Despite a match being found, Jessie didn't make it. She was a hopeful, intelligent, funny, normal girl. Her diary, covering the last few months of her life is in many ways inspiring, but ultimately tragic. The last words she wrote were "I want to go home. I want my mum." No one should have to go through what Jessie and her family endured. I love sailing, I like a challenge, and by helping Leukemia Research, we can all help prevent more tragedies like Jessie's. | |
